• Loop Seal failures often result from thermal shock and abrasion.

Material & Design Approach:

• Low thermal expansion → fewer cracks
• High mechanical strength and fracture toughness
• High thermal conductivity → reduces localized stress.

Maintenance & Repair:

• Ceramic anchors for overhead areas and COC ducts.
• Inspect and replace damaged anchors before installation.
• For localized cracks, remove old material and repair with plastic refractory without shuttering.

Advanced Materials: Phosphate-bonded, low-porosity aluminous castables/plastics, ideal for CFBC / AFBC / WTE / WHRB / PC Fired boilers with lining thickness as low as 25 mm.

Application Practices:

• Plastic ramming mixes for dense, wear-prone zones.
• Low-porosity gunning castables for faster installation.
• Lime-free monolithic refractories wherever possible.
